RX100M7, Why, with HDR, "One image with proper exposure and one overlaid image are recorded."?

The Help Guide says that, with HDR setting, "One image with proper exposure and one overlaid image are recorded".

What is the purpose of the "overlaid image".

Hey @FrankS

The overlaid image is the actual HDR image created by overlapping the 3 different exposure. So, the purpose of the "overlaid image", is to provide you with an HDR image.

@TheMaze

Sorry but that is still not clear. Two images are recorded. The Help Guide says these two images are:

- "One image with proper exposure",

- "one overlaid image".

If one of these images is the actual HDR image, what is the other image for?

The overlaid image is the actual HDR photo that is resulting from combining, the underexposed / even exposed / over exposed images together. The other one is the normally exposed version of the photo (non-HDR)
