Remote handset on KD Sony Bravia not working

None of the buttons work on the handset (only Google assistant). Batteries are ok.

I've followed the troubleshooting and nothing has worked. I have Sky Q so that handset works but not the volume button. Its only 14 months old.

Any clues? Or, how do you manually reset TV (not from handset).

Its KD-55XF9005.

They sent a new handset and that hasn't worked, so a service engineer is coming out to try and fix it. I can watch Sky through the HDMI output, but thats all. And no volume control (remotely).

I have a 5 yr warranty, so hopefully they can resolve at no extra cost.

Hi StuAth62,

I think it's the IR sensor on the TV that stopped working since a repair was arranged.

You can try downloading the sideview app to control the TV until it's fixed.

Hi.
Yes you are right.
Repaired today. New IR Sensor put in. Took the Service Engineer about 15 mins frim start to finish. A good job well done.
All covered by the warranty.
