I am considering upgrading my KD-49X8307C TO A KD-55X85L.

Can anyone say if the WiFi on the KD-55X85L supports WPA3 ?

Extremely unlikely. Certainly my top of the range A95K does not. Sony are very slow in updating their connection hardware. Here we are in 2024, and they still only use 100 Mbps network cards.

@LightFoot Thanks for the reply.
I have the reached the same conclusion as you. TBH I don't see a 100Mbps connection as a limitation but WPA3 is necessary for the best security of the WiFi.

I'm getting cold feet about buying something in 2024 that does not use the latest security standard (it's been mandatory from July 2020 for the "WiFi Certified" logo).
