Notifications badge icons not working

Have checked all settings regarding notifications that I can find and every notification is on. But Facebook snapchat, viber, WhatsApp,line or Twitter don't show any badges at all. Only message and email do. Is there a setting I'm missing?there's also no peek option available

The badge icons the little number bubble on the top right hand corner of the app. I don't need an answer now I've returned it was sick of it.
