Could other earphones/headsets provide louder volume?

I find the volume on my Xperia L through the bundled earphones to be fairly low than what I got used to other devices. It's also a bit lower with my MDRZX100A. Is it possible to get a louder volume with other earphones/headsets?

install sound boost app from playstore
this app really increases the walkman volume in earphone mode
n ya i use philips inear earphone -she3590
they are mch better than sony bundled earphone..
bt if u want to experience the bass + loud volume then install poweramp music player(you cn increase the volume upto 10 db)
xl best audio output=poweramp+ sound boost
through earphone
n best thing is that they dont need root access.
