Xperia M5 not updating to marshmallow

I recently tried to update my xperia M5 device to marshmallow through pc companion, the update was downloaded but when I connected my device through the cable then a messge appeared on the screen of my device which read that ''Unfortunately, update service has stopped''. Hence, I just couldn't update my device.

Restart your device, try to update while in safe mode

Even updating the device in safe mode is not doing any good and still the message "Unfortunately, update service has stopped" is flashing on the device screen.

I have the same problem, Update center stop. 3 times in a row. I will wait to update via WiFi, after few days.

Even I will be waiting for the ota update maybe that's the only solution.

Xperia M5 is still not updating through the pc companion and still the same messge "unfortunately, update service has stopped" keeps popping on the device screen. What can be done now?

yeah, same problem here.

Already try with three different PC's, with three different connections, and three different OS's.

But the failure notice always shown. ("Unfortunately, update service has stopped)

Any solutions?

also make sure you have the latest java installed.

Sorry to say but I've already tried updating through Xperia companion and all I could see on my device screen is that "unfortunately, update service has stopped".

You have to wait a while longer, also when that happens just tap ok and then the Xperia Companion will tell you what to do next .

Connect the Xperia M5 to pc companion after download the updated software it require you to turn off the device and disconnect the phone to USB. Just restart the device while holding the down volume do not disconnect the usb cable this is to be able to continue updating the device.

Tried this method as well but still the same problem persists. Now the thing I'm looking forward is for the ota update to arrive.

Trying to update my Xperia M5 Dual from Xperia Companion. But everytime getting the same error. Any solution for this? It says internet problem but my connection is fine. I am unable to download the software update
