Strange question

Basically, with the Android software I got from AT&T had a feature I really liked about it. Now this is odd to say, but what I liked was that the text notifications was a smiley face. In this latest version of Android, it's just an envelope.

So what I'm wondering if there is some way I can change it back to that smiley face in the status and on the lock screen? If I could do this, then it would probably save me some trouble as I'm still pondering about downgrading.
