Do any versions of the xperia play have oem sony themes engine? Looking here at this screenshot:

shows it insalled.

How do i get it is it a part of the bravia engine? I have the AT&T phone so i know i can flash other firmwares except verizon so was wondering if it was on the i firmware or whatnot...

umm Hmm no i do not have that option.

Why do i not have that option? Is this the reason why i dont have the theme option?

Sure would like to have these options.

you are TWO updates behind

Xperia Play 2.3.4 latest Update 4.0.1.A.0.283

go to settings -> about phone -> software update

or use either PC Companion or Update Service to see if there's an update for your phone

Make sure you backup everything using the Backup & Restore app

if you need the app you can use this link instead to download the apk

How to install it

You need to

go to settings -> applications -> check unknown sources

download IO File Manager

download the backup & restore app, transfer it to your SD card, use OI file manager to find it -> tap on it -> install it

Contacts

just to play it safe sync your contacts w/ google if you haven't already

open your phonebook

press MENU button -> tap on Send Contacts -> select all -> send it to your email

on your computer

-> download the file -> go to your gmail -> click on contacts -> click on more actions -> on the drop down menu click on "import" -> choose the file -> and click import

Apps

Don't worry so much about backing up your apps

on your computer go to

market.android.com -> log in -> click on My Library -> and send all your apps to your phone

SMS/MMS

if you don't want to use the backup & restore app then

Install "backup SMS" to back up your SMS and MMS to your Gmail

Ok thanks. Im trying to update with flash tool however everytime i put the phone in the correct mode by holding back button my pc completely freezes up.

I dont know how to get it to not freeze up. I installed the gordon gate drivers as well.

any ideas??

Also will this update give me the "themes" option?

UPDATE = It was a drivers issue I am now on 2.3.4. And holy crap like a brand new phone AND the themes engine is now there!!!

Are there anymore themes that one can download?

sadly we can't add any more themes at the moment but I'm sure someone at the XDA forum is working on it

so for the themes what does it actually change except for the wallpaper? When i switch a theme i only notice a change in wallpaper......
