Keyboard and smileys are BLANK!!!! Please help!

Hello forum!

This is my first post so please be gentle!

I recently paid quite a lot of money for my Xperia Arc S and LOVE the phone, but it's started having a few problems I hope somebody might be able to help with?

When composing messages and sometimes when typing in web browser my keyboard is completely blank and freezes! If I type the letters I see nothing in text bar but when press enter/search there is text appearing! This is REALLY annoying as it's effectively typing blind and I really hope somebody can help me!

When in text messaging and if the keyboard is working properly the same issue occurs with the smileys. The screen is blank but when I press an area a smiley does appear in text!

Any suggestions greatfully received! Many thanks!

it would be good to reinstall your software

Update/Repair your phone via PCC OR SUS

PCC (PC COMPANION) – Repair your software with this .First do the setup without connecting your mobile to pc.(only connect when you are asked to).

Do it as follow >> PCC > SUPPORT ZONE> SOFTWARE UPDATE> REPAIR SOFTWARE (written with blue)

SUS ( Sony Update Service) ... download and install it on pc and follow the on-screen instructions http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/Software%20Downloads/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.12.5.exe

try this > settings > aplications > storage use > messaging....

clear data and cache....

it might delete your messages.. so back up if they are important...

if that does not work..

settings > privacy > factory data reset.....

this will delete all the phone's data and you have to setup your phone once again like you did for the first time after purchasing....

if that does not works

update your phone with this..

this is an official sony software so don't worry..

and if it says your phone is up-to-date click on install anyway..
