How to tell if xperia phone is fake?

Just ordered my xperia phone on ebay and i'm waiting for it, i decided to go and check the feedback score last night and saw that some people were saying that there phones look like fakes...

How would i be able to DEFINITIVELY highlight if my xperia pro was fake? What are the blatant signs to look out for? What are the genuine SE makings that wouldnt appear on a fake phone?

If anybody knows the answer to these questions please let me know....

try to run SUS and update the phone or try to run track ID or contact any Sony Moderator with your IMEI number so they can double check

1) So TrackID doesnt work properly on fake phones?

2) Also if PC Companion recognises the phone, does that increase the possibility of it being a genuine product?

if 1 and 2 work it will increase the possibility to be real. if SUS works it shouldn't be fake

Couldn't be bothered with the hassle of theses third party sellers and cancelled the order...was reading through the feedback and seeing people being delivered phones that looked refurbished even thought the advert says brand new!

Played it safe and bought from the Sony website itself, and in the end it was only £20 more expensive..

My advice for anyone trying to buy from third party sellers on Amazon, Play.com and Ebay is beware!!

I'm currently using a Xperia Miro and want to upgrade to a Xperia V. Today I had a look at some of the ones in a shop. I remember reading online that the Xperia V has a 13MP camera. I had a look at the camera of one the ones I saw on offer and it seemed to have 12MP instead. Everything else seemed to be as the original though. I forgot to check the memory however. But is it possible that there's a version of the Xperia V with 12MP?

What is SUS??,, this is my first time using Sony,,I was expecting that the camera is good,, but it's **bleep**, , so how can I check if my Sony is ori or not??1

At the time of this thread been made SUS is Sony update service however as of 21st July 2014 that service has been removed and is no longer available for download

You could type your IMEI number in to this site and it will tell you the make and model - If it's fake the then you shouldn't be given the information pertaining to your phone http://www.imei.info/

I bought my xperia c5 ultra . I try to put my imei code to . "Imei.info " after that it appears the model of my phone and makers ,but the specs and the picture didnt appear it all red cross . Can u help me what is that mean my xperia is fake or not

I did check. The xperia I bought with black colour but at the emei link you have given my phone should silver colour or Grey colour. Is it mean my phone is refurbished. Because the colour do not same.

how you can be sure that they didnt copy IMEI from one of orjinal phone? specialy i am asking this for xperia xz1 compact ?
