Using computer's internet connection with Wi fi on ELM

Hello everyone.

I dont know how to set us ip address in both computer and my phone to use my computer's internet connection by Wi Fi on the phone.

I can connect with my phone by Wi Fi to computer but I can do nothing then. I also shared the internet connection but i cant use it on my phone and the cause is incorrect IP configuration, I think.

I also want to transfer my files on the phone to my computer (and vice versa) by WiFi but I dont know how to do it.

You shouldn't have to configure the IP address, so I would suggest you delete the wifi connection to the router in your phone, power down your router/PC for a little while and then power up and reconnect your phone via wifi, and then see if you can browse the web on your phone and share files with your PC.

I did so. But it didnt work.

In fact I should say that I have a nano USB Wireless Adaptor named EDIMAX and it did not find any wireless device after powering on the phone's WiFi; so I should create a WiFi connection in the phone manually and a similar WiFi connection in the computer. Then I should connect to the computer's WiFi connection by the phone. Although the WiFi connection would be established and internet connection is shared, no any internet connectivity is shown in the phone (even after a while). And I should assign a specific (aleatory) IP.

Sorry, but how is the wifi connection established if your phone doesn't detect your adapter?

it detects and a connection would be established (after configuring IP in both) but in the connection area (in Win7) for wifi connected device it says that: No network access

YES. I selected content sharing for my phone to be ON. I'm mixed.

No. I also disabled Firewall and even antivirus.

And I assume you have tried the "Add wireless device" in your PC's Network centre.Do you have any trouble browsing the web when connected to other wifi networks with your phone?

No. When I select "add a wireless device to the network" option in win 7 it didnt find my device (the WiFi is powered on).

And when use "Manage wireless network" option and add a connection, it would be created and connected to my device (PHONE).

I can not ABSOLUTELY browse the web in my phone (when connected). I have no access to any other wireless network.

Then I suggest you try a (free) wifi hot-spot, when you get the opportunity, to test whether your phone's inability to browse the web while connected to a wifi network, is restricted to your own wifi adapter, or not, as the case may be, so that you know if the problem lies with the phone itself.

Another thing you can try is, if this is possible in your adapter's settings using the PC, is to add your phone's MAC address to the adapter.

Ok. The first idea might be possible for a time. But with regard to the second notion I should say that I already added my device's connection in the adapter settings.

Hi. I rarely access any other network ( IN FACT NEVER ). I've purchased my phone few days ago (NEW). I wonder if it needs unlocking?
