Good GPS navigation Apps for SE W8 (android 2.1 friendly)

hi pros

i've been trying to use the GPS navigation without success.. and google map is, well.. just a map.. it does not tell me my location while im diriving..

im located in south east asia (Malaysia) so anyone know what is a good apps for GPS that will function something like garmin or papago?

i've browsed in android market and some of the apps cost 50USD... wtf???
