My Xperia T (Lt30at) running 4.1.2 ( Maximum allowed by ATT) set up as a go-phone version 9.1.F.1.120 I can provide Kernal info too if need be. (Has unlockable boot loader as well FYI) Does the following:

Charged from 80%-100% everything if e
Charged < 80% (approx) REQUIRES charger attached to get through full boot sequenes (even safe mode)

Once restarted on charger and above 75-85% juice it runs just fine.

I have reloaded everything now several times and several ways including removing SIM and external SD and attempted several complete restarts without any love.

No matter what software it does this and the only work around is to plug it in and operate it above 80% plugged in. I thought battery calibration and did what I could there unroofed but no love.

I noticed that above 80% the battery produces >4000mAh under 80% produces <3000mAh. I am concerned that under 4000mAh the system believes that the battery is dead and has not enough power to run the OS.

I have noticed recently that If I boot the phone while connected to a charger it can then be unplugged after booting completely and have been able to get it to drain to about 50%+- but invariably crashes if any actions are taken (call text, email. Etc) if not hooked to as charger.

I've been managing it by keeping a mophie and another portable battery pack constantly at hand but this blows. There has to be a fix for this issue. Sony PLEASE let us know. I paid close to $300 bucks for this phone at an ATT storr less than 6 months ago and dont believe I should have to have a new battery installed. (If that would even fix the issue)

I have restored to factory settings so many times now Ive lost count and regardless it still does this. WHY??

Anyone else with used tips please advise. PS. I had the loop issue as well where I had to put a rubber band around it and plug it in for 12 hours to recover.

That solved the boot loop issue but now this..help!

Thanks
Thank you.

I have done the pc companion repair, let me see it hepled 0%. Still switching off. It all started with the last upgrade.

Yep same issue here, been "managing" the issue for the last 2 weeks or so. What sort of age are your devices? Mine was purchased October and trying to work out if a software issue or my battery has just come to the end of its life.

Liek said before fairly stable until it gets to around 80% battery then just falls over every now and again. To get the device back on. I either have to quickly poke into airplane mode, turn off data sync and data. turn off airplane mode so I can call and text again until I can get to a charger(turning data back on may cause it to fall over I find the data sync being of help get data back up and running but not always.) or plug into a charger and turn back on.

Issue with switching off started about a month an a half ago, about the same time as the upgrade. Not sure if it is a coincidnce that the update came about as people devices are getting to an age the hardware is failing.

Hi,

I have the same problem in the last 3 days,
The Phone switch off constantly if the battery charge is less that 50%.

I sent it to tecnical assistance, but the only think that they done was cleaning terminals and software reset (I have made that before, but ok)

But in my opinion this is: or a battery problem, or a battery management software problem.

PS: if the phone is connected to the charger, it dont switch off.

BR,

L

Hi

Your not alone, my phone was fine until the upgrade to 4.1.2 seems they never learn and rush upgrades out because other phone companys do upgrades. My Xperia T was fine since then, i did try and find out how many phones they have messed up and it seems about 5-10 customers of o2 have complained each day about this upgrade, they did say send the phone in, but that is not the solution its there upgrade.

Hi,

My phone does the same thing, it was fine until you messed it up with your un-bug tested 4.1.2 was told i cant put my old version on there. I had a very good phone untill this upgrade, not very happy with this, plus the support has been very bad, all they say is send it in, but thats not they way to go. You have let down so many people with this problem o2 tell me about 5-10 people per day. So get your finger out Sony and either have a solution for backward software if there is problems with new upgrades, so it keeps the customer happy untill the new upgrade if there is problems like now, that you wont admit, by looking for ways out, and saying it must be other apps that you are using.

Waiting for a fix

Regards

I HAVE THE SOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Video tutorial on take the battery out - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BtXZiVLtWc

Buy the NEW battery on Amazon here - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Battery-Ericsson-Xperia-LT30p-1780mAh/dp/B00BOU86JC

EVERYONE LISTEN!!! Do not waste your time sending off your phone to your provider or manufacturer. I had this problem and it got to the point where my phone would even turn itself off whilst chargin. After looking at close to 100 different forums, websites etc on this problem and only seeing one comment of someone who said they bought a third party battery and it worked but nothing else said about it.
So, i found a battery for the Sony Xperia T LT30p (or more commonly know as the Sony Xperia T) on Amazon. I ordered it for about £16 and put it as 3-5 day delivery but go it next day so thats always good.
But then theres the problem of how to change the battery since you cant simply slide off the back of the phone. Well, i found a video showing how to take apart this exact phone , so i followed the video carefully where he shows how to remove the battery (you dont have to watch anything after this point) and removed the old bettery from my phone. then putting in the new battery i bought. The video does not show how to put the phone back together but it's common sense and very easy, simply reconnecting about 5 cable things (dont know what they're called) and putting the back of the phone back on.

After i did this, my touch screen did not work, but i soon found the fix for this, just hold down the unlock key and the volume up key at the same time until your phone vibrates, this is a reboot and after this, you phone should be back to normal.
As far as i know this is the only actual solution to this problem as it stands, sending it off to your provider or Sony usually comes back saying there was no fault (from what i have read)

The tools it shows in the video are not completely neccessary, i used a pen knife to undo the 1 screw that needs unscrewing to access the battery which is the screw for the whole phone case, then used the pen knife again to winch off the back casing, then to undo the cable things i used a pair of tweezers.

This is very simple and easy guys and i really hope this helps all of you!

I am really reluctant to pull my phone apart. Is SONY not going to do anything about this, eventually everyone who uses one of these phones will have this problem...even James Bond! Or is SONY just going to not care about existing customers until they buy an iPhone.
