Robotek resets itself if I try to multitask and Home Launcher crashes

When I play Robotek and switch to the homescreen or any other app Robotek resets itself or if I switch to the homescreen, the homescreen crashes, and all the icons disappear and the phone slows down for few seconds

Something similar has been occurring with Google Maps, I'd already repaired the phone, factory reset, only have one app open (Robotek) and only that app installed and I still have the same problem

any suggestions?

From what you describe, it appears that the phone may have momentarily run out of resources(memory and CPU overloaded) and caused the home screen to crash and Robotek to reset.

Just a guess here with the icons dissapearing, it could be due to the phone doing a soft reboot after the crash and needs to reinitialise the icons, etc, etc.

I have also noticed that if I perform lots of actions in quick succession, sometimes when I return to the home screen, I can see some icons have dissapeared momentarily but then it automatically comes back after a few seconds.

My hunch is the phone may not be powerful enough at times to perform tasks that need lots of processing power.

If you are able to get a friend who has a Samsung Galaxy S 2 phone, to install Robotek, and see if Robetek resets itself. Just as a test.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 has a 1.2 GHz Dual Core CPU and a better graphics engine and also better display screen.

not galaxy S2 but the first galaxy and it doesn't happen, bummer, and its not it only happen once or randomly, every single time

Hmmmm. It is a bummer

I think to run Gingerbread, it generally requires more than Eclair. Hence it may be fine in Eclair as the phone may have more spare resources and the CPU may not be as busy as in Gingerbread.

That's what I think anyway. S was on Eclair and S2 on Gingerbread. Samsung made a wise decision to put in a faster and also a dual core processor in their S2 phone. But them again SE released the Arc earlier.

How about doing some systematic eliminatiion of probable causes ie

1) Removing the home launcher

2) Use a X10 to perform some tests. May be flash the X10 back to 2.1 and try

3) etc

4) etc

Don't seem to have the problem you described.

I noticed the app automatically during installation put the majority of its files on to the card.

Could it be because my SD card is a Class 10 speed and your is of a slower speed that could be a possible reason?

i've the same problem..

when i play nova 2 and exit it to the main screen..

it takes 4 seconds for the homescreen to appear..

i mean the same prob uliwooly's facing..

the 4 icons on the bottom takes more time to open..

1st its blank then slowly icons appears..

and when i go to music's homescreen..

it's also the same..

it has to reload and take bout 3-4 seconds..

same with the timescape..

i think when u load heavy apps like the game NOVA HD..

the homescrren crashes./.

I think indeed its a bug, SE fixed some issues like the whole reseting the order of apps on the launcher after the phone was turn off/on but maybe they need to solve this issue, I'd had the app both on the internal memory and the SD card and I tried 2 different SD cards but still the same issue

and what the use of playing low graphics non real like games..

i phone doesnt have the problem like this.. i played the game in that as well...

Ok since you also had the game loaded on the internal memory, then may be it is some kind of bug.

I am sure you would have tried out all the tips and tricks around the phone so you may have to find some other games to play .
