I can hear people but people can't hear me

I have had the Sony Xperia T for less then a month, the first problems started with it just randomly going black and showing no sign of response. This doesnt happen quite as much but now whenever someone calls me or i call them they cant hear me at all. This is very frustrating as i need my phone for work etc.

Check if microphone is enabled during call

Check if issue is the same making a VOIP call (you can try with skype, for example)

Check if issue is the same booting phone in safe mode

Method 1

Press and hold the power button
Long-press the “Power off” option that appears.
The next dialog box will ask you if you want to reboot to safe mode may pop up. Tap OK
Method 2
Turn off the device.
Press and hold down the power key until the phone vibrates.
Wait until the Xperia™ logotype disappears.
Press and hold the volume down key. The device then restarts in safe mode.
To exit safe mode, restart the device.

First of all try the suggestion above. You can test the microphone in the Xperia diagnostics app:

Also make sure that the phone doesn't think there is a headset connected to the phone. Blow down the 3,5 mm contact and connect and disconnect the headset while music is playing from the Walkman player.

Thansk for the above advice, it seem to help. Although since my screen repair the sound has been very muffled during the call and less so when testing the microphone. any advice?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I guess that the counterpart have the muffled sound? You could check the call settings and remove the microphone noise suppression to see if you experience any differences in a call.

This worked like a charm... but when i took it from safe mode the issue was back. What does this mean?

It seems that if I press sound incease button, bottom left. They can hear me, but then the call isnt private
