Backup phone contacts to Gmail

I have saved all my contacts to phone/sim and I also did sync all the contact/etc to gmail, but when I open Gmail and open Contacts, there are no phone contacts.

What's wrong with it ??

The phone will only synchronize contacts that are stored as Gmail contacts to your account. Go to Contacts -> [menu] -> Export contacts -> Internal storage. Then import them again from Contacts -> [menu] -> Import contacts -> Internal storage. When you do this the phone will ask where to save your contacts, here select your gmail address.

Well, I do have the menu button (3 dots in the lower right corner), but ur ui and mine is different, I have Xperia SP software verison 4.1.2.. I don't have Export Contacts and Add Account, etc in my phone .

Perhaps it's named 'back up contacts' instead of 'export contacts' in your device.

If I backup and then again import the same contacts, don't u think its inefficient and redundant ??

When you add a contact in your phone you can select which account it should be stored to (for example local contact, gmail contact, ActiveSync contact depending on what accounts you have in the phone). In order for a contact to be synchronized to your gmail account you need to store it to that account.

I suspect that you have not selected to store all your contacts to your gmail account and that is why you can't see all contacts on gmail. By making a backup and then importing it you can select to import them to Google instead of manually adding those contacts again.

By following ur steps, i backed the contacts, but now there are two contacts with same information.

Yes, this may create some duplicates.
First make sure that you now have all contacts on http://www.google.com/contacts. Then go to Settings -> Apps -> All -> Contacts Storage -> Clear data. This will delete all contacts from the phone and it will then download the contacts from gmail.

In case you also have duplicates on gmail you can remove those from http://www.google.com/contacts -> More -> Find and merge duplicates.

Please help me in sorting out the issues on my phone

1. I have read your comment and trying to back up , but, I am unable to do so. My device is Sony Xperia C. Please help me in this regard.

2. Also, I am getting a continuous poblem of insufficient memory in my device. I have not loaded much apps.. Most of my space is occupied by the pre-loaded apps by Sony. I am not using any of the preloaded apps. Please let me know how to uninstall the preloaded apps. Because, of this insufficient memory, I am not able to use my phone effectively.

3. My phone has a speaker problem. I am unable to hear any ring tone. If I on my speaker, I am unable to hear the other partys voice.

HI can you please solve my 2queries,

i have sync.my contacts on my google account now after fomatting my account from where i import my contacts? because in contacts column only showing import from sim,import from sdcard,internal.

i have xperia z3+ model

and my 2nd query is

yesterday i have fomatted my phone but before that i had ejected my sdcard so that sdcard not shown and i got message that sdcard ejected properly and there is no data in gallery of sdcard but after 1min msg shown to me sdcard not ejected properly and all the data of sdcard like pictures videos showing in gallery so i remove the sdcard from the phone after that i had put sd card again in phone but from then sdcard data not showing in my phone.

Now i put that sdcard to my lappy also, another mobile also but sdcard not showing anywhere

Dont knw why? can uh please hlp me if you knw anything about that
