Xperia Mini Pro Won't Update!!!! Phone is dead!!!! Need Help!!!

Hello

I tried updating my phone with pc companion and it failed. It only got 50%!!!

Now my phone will not turn on. It won't flash with the service tool or pc companion or the flash tool from XDA!!!

Is my phone faulty? If not what can I do???

update using above software and u dont need ur mobile to be turned on, just press the volume key when u connect the usb cable and this is official update only,but manual .

does the phone charge when you connected to a PC? if it does then Update Service or Flashtool should fix it

if you connect the phone to the charger or the computer the LED should turn yellow/orange/green

The light turns green when I plug it in to the usb on the pc, when not in flash mode. When I connect it to the charger, nothing happens.

ok, good news then you can use Flashtool or Update service, what happens when you use Flashtool and it ask you to connect your phone on flashmode? it doesn't detect your phone?

if it doesn't then re-install PCC and SEUS on your computer then run Flashtool again

I have tried flashtool.

It detects the phone, begins the update but fails at certain intervals.

Sometimes it will fail when flashing the kernel.sin file but it never gets past amss.sin.

See my log above.

Thanks for your help so far. But I am thinking the phone is faulty, or the usb cable.

I just thought I'd plug the phone in to the usb and leave it on charge but after about a minute, the green light goes out then comes back on about 5 seconds later, as if the phone is rebooting.

Does this mean there is a problem?

remove the SD card, the phone might be trying to turn on to mount the SD card, do you have another micro USB cable?

I've removed the SD card and connected it to the usb again, this time the light came on for about 30 seconds, went off for about 5 seconds, came back on again for about 30 seconds and now the light stays off. I can't try a different usb cable until I get in work tomorrow and use someones blackberry cable. The phone was brand new though, only got it today from the o2 website.

A different USB cable didn't work, now o2 are saying they have no more in stock and are not getting anymore in stock. Pathetic! Now I'm going to have to go out and spend £250 for a phone that I should have got for £130!! Won't be getting another mini pro that's for sure.

I just tried "buying" one on their website - just to see if it said "out of stock" and it accepted the transaction - no notice about it being unavailable. You could try contacting them again and asking to speak to a supervisor - tell them that the phone is still being sold so you don't see how they can claim it is out of stock.

Having said that - flashing (or trying to) with a third-party application may have invalidated your warranty. If you're lucky, that won't be picked up on because - from your description - it sounds like that flash never really affected the phone anyway - probably because the phone was not in USB Debugging mode.

Had you done anything at all to the phone - rooting, flashing a third-party ROM etc - before the failed attempt using the SE update tool? If not and if O2 are genuinely out of stock, you have no comeback other than a refund of the price of the phone - unless both you and O2 are willing to consider a repair. If you'd done anything to invalidate the warranty, you could - in theory at least - be in trouble as far as O2 goes but that wouldn't stop you seeing if a local repair shop can take a look - it may be something they can do quickly and cheaply - might be worth considering before you shell-out for another phone.

Before that though - just confirm exactly what happens when you try using PC Companion. Does PCC show your phone as connected via USB? If so, does it say the phone is up to date or does it say an update is avialable? If it says it is up to date, have you tried running the updater again and - if so - did you get the screen asking if you want to repair the installation? If it says there is an update available, it is acknowledging that the phone did not update - which should put your mind at rest regarding the warranty. If there is any other message - perhaps saying something to the effect of your phone not being suitable for updates, that would usually indicate that the phone had been rooted or has a non-standard ROM installed.

One other thing - and it's one of the those "obvious" things to try - pull the battery and wait a few minutes before powering on. If there's any signs of life, bear in mind that the first boot-up after an update/repair can take several minutes so give it time. Also, some phones have been known to work better with rooting and flashing tools if the SD and SIM cards are removed first - might be worth a try if you want to continue trying with unofficial flashing tools.
