In call volume - people can't hear me

I can hear people very clearly on my xperia but everyone I speak to says I'm very muffled.

I've checked the volume, network when I'm on the call and even taken the extra protective casing off but it makes no difference and makes phone calls very difficult.

Any suggestions and solutions would be gratefully recieved!

ok so you do have the latest update, you could try to repair your software using PCC or Update Service

you can also test the mic and 2nd mic

This is how you enter Service Menu on the Arc, Neo, Play, etc

Open the Dialer and press this

Thankyou! That's really useful to know. I've tested it and its nowhere near as clear as when I test the speaker - is there anything I can do or just take it into the shop?

Backup Everything

Contacts

just to play it safe sync your contacts w/ google if you haven't already

open your phonebook

press MENU button -> tap on Send Contacts -> select all -> send it to your email

on your computer

-> download the file -> go to your gmail -> click on contacts -> click on more actions -> on the drop down menu click on "import" -> choose the file -> and click import

Apps

Don't worry so much about backing up your apps

on your computer go to

market.android.com -> log in -> click on My Library -> and send all your apps to your phone

SMS/MMS

if you don't want to use the backup & restore app then

Install "backup SMS" to back up your SMS and MMS to your Gmail
