So how do you tell whether the phone you just got is not a counterfeit phone?

A valid phone from Sony Ericsson?

What are the alternatives to double check it?

I'm getting a new phone soon but it's not available from where I am, so I just want to make sure the phone I'm getting is a true phone from Sony Ericsson.

Phone I'm getting is xperia arc s. I know there's two version lt18i and lt18a. How do I know the lt18a phone is not another mod version of lt18i that just replaced the exterior or interior ?

Thanks in advance.

Edison

If the IMEI number of the phone corresponds to the stated model on SE's database, then it's pretty certain that it's a genuine SE phone. As for the a and i versions of the arc s, these will differ in their 3G/H reception frequencies, which is a hardware difference, so there shouldn't be any confusion there.

Sorry for asking these dumb questions. I was once a hard core SE fan, but I switched to iPhone but now I'm going back to SE. Proud to be a SE fan, especially helpful people like you guys! really appreciated.
