smart backlight control problem on XA Ultra

Hi,

Whenever i activate Smart backlight control on my newly bought Xperia XA Ultra. phone screen does not go on sleep even if my phone is on a desk and i am not lookng at it for any thing.

Does any body have any information and how to give this information to Sony so that they can resolve it.

Hi @anantshr,

Is your Xperia XA Ultra updated to the latest available software update? You can check this by connecting it to a PC and Xperia Companion.

As nolramlb already suggest, could you check if this happens in safe mode as well?

Hi @christofer

Yes i have updated it to the latest software which is Build number 36.0.b.1.111 This was updated through Wifi, Hope there is no other update only through PC companion.

I have tried using the safe mode and this problem doesn not happen in the safe mode. Screen sleeps after inactivity if phone is left on the desk.

What is the solution ?

If it doesn't happen while your phone is in safe mode that indicates that this is caused by one of the apps that has been downloaded. There is no easy way to find the app in question but if you started to notice this after downloading a specific app you could try uninstalling that one and see if that helps.

Hi guys I have activated smart backlight on my xa ultra but it seems not to function as it should. Even if I am holding the phone and looking at some pictures the light dims out after 15 seconds as per my sleep settings. Please suggest.

Even in safe mode the back light control feature does not function. When I try to update the software with pc companion it doesn't take update aswell. Please help, I am really upset with the phone's functioning
