Hi @yukino_honey,

I'm sorry to hear about your phone.

This sounds like it's related to hardware rather than software since the microphone doesn't seem to pick up any sound at all.

There is however a few things you can try, just to make sure that it's not related to software.

For starters I would recommend that you start with rebooting your phone in safe mode to make sure that this isn't caused by a third party application. Do the microphone test in diagnostics while the phone is rebooted in safe mode and see if there is any change.

If there is no change in safe mode, the next step is to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion.

This will delete all data stored on the internal storage in the phone so it's advised to backup using Xperia Companion prior to the repair.

When the repair has been completed, do not restore the backup immediately and do not install any apps, complete the start up guide and then test the microphone in diagnostics.

If you still hear the wheezing sound, get in contact with your Local support and they will assist you with having the phone sent in to an authorized service centre so it can be examined.

Let me know how it goes!

Dear Sir,

I am facing mic problem since day one. I thought that it may be network problem but when I change my hadset with same sim problem solved.

I face this problem when the other side person is unable to hear me, that person complaining that my voice is very deep and very low to hear clear, not only that but the other side person complaining that when he speak his sound eco come back to him too, where as I hear him clearly.

I was given my mobile to sony service station first time on date: 20/12/2016 and I received it back on date: 24/12/2016, they just update softwear and given me back the same, without tacking my complain seriously.

I was given my mobile secound time with same complain on date: 30/12/2016 and I received it back on date: 03/01/2017, they just update softwear and given me back the same, without tacking my complain seriously again.

now I was given my mobile third time with same complain on date: 09/01/2017 and I received it back on date: 17/01/2017, they change MAIN PCA and given me back the same, JUST TO satisfy me they tack my complain slight seriously again.

But still we face the same problem and we are thining that SONY the big name is not serious about their costumers complain. I have very bad implression on SONY BRAND. I think that this may be manufacturing defect and company must take this complain seriously and replace my hadset with new one. other wise we have to go in consumer foram.

Regards,

Viber can make phone buggy. On my Xperia Z2 it was causing proximity switch malfunction. Strange thing about MIC was when i reboot phone in safe mode, MIC was still not working well, but after a Viber call, MIC started working again. It should start to work already in safe mode, because 3rd party apps shouldn't be active in that mode. It's still works, but if bug came back i'll keep you posted...
