Low battery life in Xperia X2

The Li-Po 1500 mAh battery on my new Xperia X2 is pathetic. I am getting battery life of only one day, with minimal usage. So i am now trying to recharge the battery fully, with the phone switched off. The problem is - i cant find any indicator to tell me that the battery is fuly charged. The green LED bar just keeps going across the screen endlessly. Can somebody help, please?

If you are in an area with a week 3G signal or if the 3G signal drops now and then, then the battery drains faster because the phone keeps searching all the time. It might be better then to switch to gsm mode.

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately it won't help to resolve the issue. Firstly, we don't have 3G in India yet and, secondly, the singal strength in my area is excellent. Thirdly, i have configured ActiveSync to check my mail only once in 30 mins, so the 'dummy server fix' is not required either. And i also disconnect messaging at night.

You know, the excuse trotted out by SE is hard to believe because the battery on my Blackberry lasts for 3 days although my BB delivers my mails as they arrive, and i am also on Yahoo Msgr and Google Talk 24/7

Anyway, it is my bad luck that i chose to buy a rotten product and i will have to live with it.

Maybe you could help me with another major disappointment with Xperia X2. It is not allowing me to sync with my company's Exchange server. The problem seems to be with missing or outdated certificates. I am unable to log into the site http://webmail.wipro.com This should be a common issue with all SE Windows Mobile phones, perhaps you have come across it before.

About 3G. The phone does not know that you dont have 3G in Indiia, so it will keep searching for it. Have you set the phone to gsm mode?

I tried to open your link to the webmail both on my laptop and X2 but it would not open the site.

I dont use Exchange Server but it should be simple to setup such a connection. Have you asked IT people in charge on your company for help?

Connecting to my mailservers + Yahoo, gmail, Windows Live is no problem though.

1. Yeah, the phone is set to GSM mode.

2. Setting up the Exchange Server account would be a simple job if the phone has a valid SSL certificate. I can open the webmail site of my organization on my Dell laptop without any problem, i never had to install any certifcate on it. On checking with friends i've found that a Nokia E71 will open the site, while a Samsung Omnia (running WinMo) will not. What a sick joke, Nokia phones using Symbian are equipped to work on Microsoft Exchange, while phones with Windows Mobile cannot communicate! And the main reason why i opted for a WinMo phone was that i wanted to be sure that there would be no trouble working with Outlook mail. Guess MS deserves all the criticism it faces nowadays.

3. I will not take up the battery life issue with SE support because i do not expect a resolution, but i will certainly try to raise the Exchange server issue. The trouble is - their central support line in India is not working, and the local service center personnel blandly say that a few hours of battery life with minimal usage is quite 'normal'. Wish i could record their comments and play them back at the launch of the next SE product!

Maybe you could find the certificate on digicert.com

About the the Nokia I have friends who have nothing but trouble with that phone and their exchange servers.

So it look like your SSL problem is actually not caused by the X2.

This certificate you ask for is simply not installed in the WM.

Well, what is clear is that the certficate is not installed on the X2. Whether it is not installed in WM by default is something that SE should clarify. IF they claim that, i could take up the matter with Microsoft. It seems unlikely to me that WM is not equipped to communicate with MS Exchange.

Thanks Aras, the article looks useful but i am unable to follow these steps -

Use Internet Information Services Manager to save a certificate to a file

Right-click the Default Web Site or the Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync virtual directory, and then click Properties.

There is a built-in feature in the X2 to check battery charge, there is no need to install a 3rd-party app.

I would surely like to help you out, but you are better off getting in contact with the administrator of your company IT.

It is more complicated than I can explain on the board here.

About your battery problem you should certantly take it up with SE! What you describe sounds really bad and it is not what I have experienced.
