Illumination Notification Bar xperia sp

hello,

The main reason I got this phone was the illumination bar, however since upgrading to 12.0.A.2.245 earlier today it no longer works when I have a notification. The only way it will constantly blink to alert me to a notification is to turn stamina mode off which halves the battery life of the phone. It will blink once when stamina mode is on but this is of no use to me as I want a visible notification when the screen is off.
Please address this issue in the 4.3 update and revert to the illumination notification of the previous software.

i was 100% satisfied with this phone but after this update i'm somehowe disappointed. Why dont you let everyone now that this would happen after the update. Like i said before, the main reason to buy this phone was the illumination function but now it gone(in stamina mode)!

I have forwarded this as feedback but currently i can only recommend that you disable Stamina if you want LED-notifications.

I completely agree with Thierry.The stamina mode is excelente however remove the functionality of llumination bar removes one of the best features of the phone.I recommend that in a new update would be possible in stamina mode to disable or to enable LED-Notifications.

LED notifications sure didn't seem like they were killing my battery in stamina mode before the update.

I would also make the request that Sony make it so users can toggle LED notification ON and OFF for Stamina mode.

Also, the notification LED used to have much cooler effects in terms of fading rather than just blinking. Not as cool after the update. Even though it seemed sort of gimmicky at first, I got used to the LED, it's one of the main selling points of the phone in terms of making it different than other products, too bad it has taken a step backward for now.

Yep...bottom line is they just plain messed up the LED bar with the update. The Sony support guy that replied above basically confirmed this. This better be the first thing fixed with the next update. It's so strange that they broke the LED functionality when it was the one thing that worked perfectly before the update.

I fully agree! You get 1 blink for an sms, but it no longer keeps blinking untill you read the sms in STAMINA mode, while this was actually the coolest feature of the notification bar. If you had missed the sound or vibration with your phone just laying around someplace on your desk, at least the LED blinking would make you aware of the situation that you have an SMS or a missed call. Would be great if this gets fixed

I have four of these phones. One for myself and three for staff. The ONLY reason we have them is for the notification bar which lets us know that we have messages waiting. It seems bizarre that Sony would include turning this off when in Stamina Mode, especially when there is a dedicated setting to do this anyway. My phone now lasts a third of the time it used to!!

Please change this promptly or post how I roll back to the previous software version.

I agree that this is a top feature and that it is not working together with the stamina mode is really bad. But when I bought the phone in may I detect this problem also with older versions for the phone. It's not a problem of the new version as some people say. Hopefully we get a correction with newer versions of the phone and as a workaround the app Illumination Bar will help against this leck.

i fully agreed. another joke is that stamina deactivate notification bar to reduce battery consumption, but when battery be low, notification bar work fool time!

Just another confirm of this bug.

Sony should allow the user select if he/she wants the led notification with stamina mode on AND the number of leds on.

Also with stamina mode off is just the central led the one to blink (quick blink) in firmware 2.254, when .1.257 firm the 3 leds blinked on notification (with nice fade on/off effect, i want this BACK)

Please Sony fix this behaviour in the next update!!

I've found having it in stamina mode doesn't make the battery last any longer anyway. The music player burns the life out of the battery more than watching a film. Strange phone

Guys,
I gave a thought to this particular problem and got a solution. You can download an app named "illumination bar notification" from play store. Customise the settings in it (notification colors, timeout time, frequency) . Now when the stamina mode is activated you add this particular app to be active in standby mode. You will get your notifications in sleep mode even when stamina mode is active. Hope this helps
