Can't hear anyone during calls

Hello,

I came across a very annoying issue with my Sony Xperia M4 device. Out of the blue I cannot hear anyone during calls. I can only hear the caller if I connect a headset or I turn on the speaker. The earphone does not work during calls. This is definitely not a hardware problem as I tested the earphone in the Sony service menu and it works. I'm sorry but this is unacceptable.

Phone details:

OS : Android 5.0 - Firmware: 26.1.A.3.111

Please advise.

I already tried restarting the device but no result

Welcome to the community,

Really sorry to hear about this, in this case, it could very well be third party software playing up and causing the problem.

I suggest booting the handset into Safe mode and then testing to see if the issue continues.

If the issue is gone, then we can clarify that this is definitely software orientated, however the hard part is finding out what third party app is causing the problem.

Hi,

Im having a problem with my M4 Aqua. I cannot hear anything in calls, I have tried a factory reset, a hard reset all to no avail. I have also tried a diagnostic, where i cannot hear anything.

trying pc Xperia companion.
if still same that mean your speaker is broke.
sent it to repair.

Really sorry to hear that, in this case, I agree with @Shen02, performing a software repair may be the best course of action for you.

However I do first suggest running a backup, use the links below to find out how both the repair and backup are done.
