My SMS's Suddenly disappeared!

I have been using Handcent SMS for about a day because the original/stock messaging app wouldn't always deliver my multiple/group messages. Handscent SMS was workign fine until suddenly all my sms's dissapered from both the original/stock messaging app and from the additional Handscent app I downlaoded. Does anyone have any idea? Many have reported on other sites they have had this problem on "Android" phones especially on the 1.6 Versions. It is not nessarliy Handcent SMS related as some people's dissapered from the stock app.

I have heard about this problem and, if I remember correctly, people seemed to solve this problem by uninstalling Handcent SMS and then reinstalling it. Unistalling restored the messages and then reinstalling allowed them to use Handcent again without issue. I've been using Handcent SMS for about a week now and (knock on wood) haven't encountered this issue. There may be more to it than just the Handcent/stock messaging apps. Will look into this further. Any other suggestions from anyone else?

Any updates on this anyone? Started using ChompSMS instead, worked well for 1.5 weeks and today all da sms's dissapeared again! I tried to send a picture mssage and I think it was still sending and not shorty after that all my messages dissapeared again. Tried to go into the stock messaging app and it kept force closing. I guess it is actually the stock messaging app thats causing this problem! Hellpppppppp this is so frustrating!

Any update on this problem anyone?

I'm still having problems with the force closing of the messaging app on my xperia X10. I have previously mentioned this. Tried handsent and ChompSms and still the same problems. I've gone back to the stock sms but still force closes and then all my sms dissapear. I have now debranded my phone and installed the latest update R2BA020. Still no luck!

check how many task killer you installed?

just one would do. i have this experience of installing 3 task killer and some apps kept force- killing

i am using handcent 3.2 , no problem.

today there is another 3.2.2 out, update any try.

Hi,

I've only got the one taskkiller and i'm not killing any of the messaging apps.

Also I've noticed that this MAINLY happens when trying to send an MMS! Force closes on handcent and stock messaging app.

Today i got a message saying an update available, so logged into PC, found update and updated. I was on the RB20 firmware and it's still on firmware RB20. What's it changed? Hope it sorts the messaging prob out!

Yes, Handcent SMS app was a havoc once. Now the latest update seems to be little okay, but still hangs and looses all the SMS.

To be on a safer side, I have installed SMS Backup app, which automatically backs up all my SMS to my Gmail account with a separate folder 'SMS'. If crahses, I can view my SMS in the Gmail.
