New update had ruined performance

Since the newest update, my phone has been running really badly.

Firstly you've changed the top bar to be so blindingly bright ive had to put night mode on all the time to get around it. Dunno what that's all about.

But mainly this update has killed my phones performance. Everything is now slow and can't keep up. Having more than one app open at once makes the phone visibly chug, and it often can't handle video. It was totally fine right up until the phone updated, and then the problems started.

Obviously I've done all the usual checks and fixes but it's not improving.

I'd love to know if other people have had this issue, and whether Sony has any ideas on why this is happening or how I can fix it my end, or if they plan to fix this their side.

Agreed.

The xz3 phone is horrible now, a restart is required every 8 hours or so to remove the worst lag

Before the update it was smooth running for weeks.

Do you know the software build number? my phone is running ok so I'd like to avoid this update if I can.

Edit. I see the android 10 update is rolling out, think I'll give it a miss.

I have experienced exactly the same thing. I was so happy with the phone until now. It is useless now.

Hopefully Sony will fix this soon.

I'm actually a bit surprised how bad my XZ3 (PF42) has become with the Android 10 regarding performance.

For Sony: Try to run Netflix split-screen (or picture-in-picture) and use Chrome at the same time. This was a non-issue before, but now performance can go to a crawl. It's strange that it works quite alright sometimes, and horribly slow sometimes.

Yes,

for me the phone is not usable anymore. Run Pokemon go and a browser... Laggy crap. Or camera app and any other... Neather the csmera app is working or the other app. The batter performance is not okay anymore (was never fine but now i can use the phone for an hour display on).

The alarm clock does not stop making alarm... Till u deactivate the used alarm time.

It seems we have a buffer overrun now.

The display light goes dark when it wants to but if u hold ur Finger on the light chip nothing changes... The fingerprint unlock does not works at any time. Means when u lock ur phone for a minute u can put ur Finger at the sensor and nothing happens till u unlock with the Button. Even at i was writing this sentences i had to close my support app i used to visit this forum. Buffer overrun?

Sorry Sony, i allways had a sony but i go to use my galaxy s9 again. Runs much better at moment.

Hey, I have the same with my Xperia XZ3. It was top notch phone, but after the update, it almost has troubles running one single app. Will try to do the repair and reinstall the system completely.

Same issue here, after the update performance is horrible. Keeping single game in background makes everything super laggy.

Yes have the same problem, latest update absolutely ruined performance.

Every little action takes 1-2 seconds longer than before!

Messages , what's up, camera, Android auto, everything just lagg..

Seriously considering switching back to my old iPhone

Well the phone crashed when trying to save a picture taken in the Camera app (like, LOL, really, Sony?) and since then the performance is a little better, so I am testing and not yet reinstalled.... Will keep you posted.

The battery discharges quickly after updating to Android 10 and has some bugs more users are writing about, hope Sony comes with a bug fix soon so I can get my old lovely XZ3 back

My XZ3 is horrible, laggy and sooo slow

The new update is a mess, 300-500mb free ram, that's so awful!!

Ram management has always been bad.. But now it's much worse!!

They didn't even test the update before releasing it!! Holy moly

My phone can't be used anymore.. The only solution we can do is getting back to pie in case sony won't help in fixing this update

I even tried to do a clean-install via flash tool.. Same problem..

This is surely my last sony I buy.. Sony out of smartphone competition..

~~Ostatnia aktualizacja bardzo spoeolila telefon. Kilka razy musiałam go resetoeac aby jako tako dało sie z niego korzystać.~~

Przede wszystkim błędy z. udzikiem są uciążliwe... wysłuchanie kilka razy dźwięku budzika bez możliwości jego wyłączenia.. grrr.Do tego budzik w czasie pisania posta włączył się samoistnie pomimo że nie miał ustawionego trybu drzemki ani ustalonej godziny do budzenia.... i weź go człowieku wyłącz jak nie ma żadnego sposobu oprocz resetowania telefonu.Polecam panom programistom ustawienie sobie budzika na 5rano i próbę jego wyłączenia.. szybko zajmą się poprawa błędu.

~~Telefon jest mega zamulony. Otworzenie niektórych aplikacji to tak istna walka, do tego zacinajacy się i buczący dźwięk powiadomień, świadczący o tym że telefon nie nadadzą....~~

The last update was very good phone. Several times I had to resetoeac it to be able to use it anyway.

First of all, errors with the alarm clock are troublesome ... listening to the alarm clock several times without the ability to turn it off ... grrr. Additionally, the alarm clock turned on spontaneously when writing the post, despite the fact that it had not set the snooze mode or the set time to wake up ... and take it man off as there is no way except for resetting the phone. I recommend gentlemen programmers to set the alarm clock at 5rano and try to turn it off .. they will fix the error quickly.

The phone is mega silted. Opening some applications is such a real struggle, and there is a stuttering and buzzing notification sound, indicating that the phone will not work ....

massacre ... better let them take care of the system repair ...

Re fingerprint issue: turn the phone upside down and apply your fingerprint to the sensor. It seems to work much more reliably.

Could it be that the recognition scanner somehow became inverted by the Android 10 update? Just a shot in the dark - a guess on my part.

I have the same alarm problem
