Static/popping sounds on speakers and earphones after update

Hi,
I'm experiencing static/popping sounds from both my speakers and earphones after the update.

I tried adjusting various sound settings but it didn't work. Does anyone else have the same problem?

Only when playing video clips on the Sky Sports app.

Could you try to replicate the problem while in safe mode?

Do you experience this with the preloaded apps or only third party apps?

It's *only* the sky sports app so I'm not massively bothered. No other phone or tablet in the household does it though (with that app).

In that case, there's nothing wrong with your phone, you have to contact the app developer and they, not Sony, have to address this issue.

Just because an app/game works ok with a device it doesn't mean it will be the same for ALL devices.

it happens randomly with certain sounds its hard to replicate but it does it occasionally but your right its only since android 7

I can't try in safe mode cause most apps are disabled and I can't use any browsers.

But my problem is easy to replicate and playing music videos on YouTube gives the popping/static sound too.

You should be able to boot in >> safe mode > open youtube and see if you can replicate the issue

I've tried using YouTube app and there was no problem. Sadly this problem only occurs when i launch several of my game apps. So far 3 different game apps from 3 different publishers have this problem... 😨

And I bet each of them is using an older legacy api for sound emulation.

I'm glad it's not my phone that's broken then. Almost wanted to send it back to Sony. Guess I can only wait for updates from the apps to rectify the sound problem.

Does anyone still experience thid annoying problem? I'm getting this problem now with 2 games "piano tiles 2" and "city of love paris". Is there anyway to fix this?
