In which way are you trying to do the backup and do you receive any error message while you are trying to do the backup?

If you want to do a backup of your user data on your Xperia 1, this is done to your Google drive using the settings of the phone. To back up data to Google Drive, follow the steps below. For more information on how to backup your user data on your Xperia 1, click here.

Find and tap Settings > System > Advanced > Backup.
Tap the switch beside Back up to Google Drive to turn the feature on.
Tap Account, then choose a Google account to use.
Tap OK > DONE.
