topic Xperia 1 keeps saying UI has stopped in 1 Series

My Xperia 1 keeps freezing and occasionally says 'UI has stopped.' I have tried a factory reset and also deleting the majority of the apps with no improvement. This is incredibly frustrating, and for such an expensive handset is really putting me off Sony! I'm very close to actually getting my old phone out of a drawer to use instead!

Hi @Razorbroon, sorry to hear about this.

The error message "System UI has stopped" is nine out of ten times caused by a downloaded app in the phone, but since the error message did not disappear after a factory reset, I think that it would be best to try a software repair using Xperia Companion and a computer. Keep in mind though that a software repair will erase all user data from the phone, so if it is advised to have your personal data backed up to your Google account.

Let me know if that helped!
