Sony WH-1000XM3 - can hear music through wired connection but not voices

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else had encountered this and knew of a possible fix. On Bluetooth mode my headphones work fine, but when I try to listen to video through a cable, I can only hear a warped version of any music playing, and when the audio is people talking I can only hear that very quietly. I have tried using two cables, and neither is the one that came with the headphones, so I wonder if that could be the issue, but at least one of the cables functioned normally with these headphones previously. I'm guessing it could be a problem with the headphone jack. Has anyone else experienced this? What can I do about it?

Okay that's weird! Does this happen with all devices? Have you tested it with the cable on a PC/Laptop and a smartphone?
I do recommend contacting Sony to try and get the same cable as the supplied one as yes, it might be the reason.
And while doing so, you can also try to reset it and test it.
