Dead Minidisc player MDS-JE330

I have a Sony MDS-JE330 and it will not power on, the standby lamp is red, but nothing will take it out of standby.

I have checked inside, all the ribbon cables are in properly and I cannot see any popped capacitors.

I cannot find any new ones either.

I have emailed Sony repairs for advice, does anyone else have any ideas of what to do?

Chucked it in electrical recycling this morning.

Sticking to vinyl now as you can always buy a turntable, luckily most of my MDs are copies of my records.

So just bought a nice Pro-Ject one with a good cartridge.

Do not buy restricted formats no matter how good they are, or you will get left in the lurch one day.
