A7iii Screen dims and stops recording

Hi all.

I am loving my new Sony A7iii with 24-105 G lens. However I am experiencing an issue. When turning the manual optical zoom quickly the monitors dim momentarily l, both evf and screen on back. If recording video the recording stops. It is as if the lens loses power and resets. It also does this when shutter is half presses to lock focus. Very frustrating!! The problem does not happen all the time. Just about 25% of the time. I don’t have another lens to eliminate it being a lens issue. But I suspect it might be a lens communication issue. Can anyone help? Does it need to go to repair? The camera is 2 weeks old. 😞
