Using PlayMemories software to send an email

Hi I am trying to use the PlayMemories software to send a photo via the email feature (Tools, Email Media Files)

After a Windows update it has recently started giving this error message:

The default mail client could not be found, or the mail client may not support simple MAPI features

I have tried changing the default mail app setting (in Windows) though this does not resolve the issue. Outlook works fine by other means, such as when I click mailto links

I am using Windows 10 update 1803, Outlook 2010 SP2, PlayMemories version 5.5.01.05091

Is there any way to resolve this? I would just manually attach the photos but I need them to be downsized before sending to the recipients

Welcome to our community!

Since the issue only started after the Windows update it's most likely related to that rather that PlayMemories home itself. Have you tried to use a different email client like Thunderbird instead of Outlook?

Hi thank you for the advice. I have tried in Thunderbird and this is working - so there must be some compatibility issue with Outlook 2010 and the recent Windows update. I will investigate this further with Microsoft
