&lt;P&gt;you can alter the brightness of the screen as shown&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://helpguide.sony.net/dsc/1520/v1/en/contents/TP0000586777.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;here&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Might be that it's not going to be bright enough still, especially when using the camera in bright sunlight.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have just purchased the Cyber shot WX 500 and was very pleased with it till I was using it on a bright sunny day and could not see a thing in the viewing screen. Has anyone had this problem and lease does anyone know if there is a setting to adjut this is some way? As there is no view finder to actually look through it will be a useless camera if you cannnot see what you are taking on the screen. Thank you in anticipation.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
