Help with view finder in bright light

I have just purchased the Cyber shot WX 500 and was very pleased with it till I was using it on a bright sunny day and could not see a thing in the viewing screen. Has anyone had this problem and lease does anyone know if there is a setting to adjut this is some way? As there is no view finder to actually look through it will be a useless camera if you cannnot see what you are taking on the screen. Thank you in anticipation.

I am afraid it is a problem of all the cameras equipped with only LCD display, it would require a "hood".

Hi @Charlieboy..,

you can alter the brightness of the screen as shown here.

Might be that it's not going to be bright enough still, especially when using the camera in bright sunlight.
