Camera won't open

I hadn't used my RX100 M3 for a little while, then, suddenly it will not open. I have recharged the battery and tried other batteries - still nothing. I've just ordered a new battery but have no hope. The camera was fine the last time I used it. I love that little camera, but I doubt it is worth while having it repaired if anything IS wrong. Any suggestions, please.

Hi pamspix,

When you say it doesn't open - do you mean the lid in front of the lens?

It can happen that the grease becomes resinous if it is not used for a longer period of time or that some dirt has settled between the slats.
You can try to move the slats very carefully and see if this solves the problem.
If this is not the case, unfortunately the only thing left to do is to repair the slats.
