Sony DSC-TX10 fix

My camera is Sony DSC-TX10

I can't access the menu of the camera or any different modes, it's in the easy mode right now , as if it is lag !

Is it safe to disconnect the internal battery, and how?

Please help

Hi, welcome to the Sony Forums

You should be able to reset the camera without accessing the built-in memory.

Open the battery / memory card flap at the base othe camera and remove the battery. Wait for 1 minute, then replace the battery and power up.

Hopefully that will restore normality!

Thank You for help, I have done what you have suggested (removed the battery and the card for more than one hour) , but still the "menu" dose not respond !

It's possible the camera has developed an internal fault. There is an 'initialise' function but you need to be able to use the Menu in order to access it

Thanks a lot for your kind attributes. At the time being I really need to use the camera, for that I'm thinking about how to remove the internal battery, where hopefully will do the job.

I'm not sure the internal battery is accessible in the same way as the conventional one; the camera is not easy to take apart, nor is it certain that removal will provide a fix if has a physical malfunction.

It's very difficult to say without seeing the camera. If you don't want to use the Sony repair service, you might get a second opinion, and possibly a cheap fix, by taking it in to a high-street camera store. They often have reliable repair technicians and tend to be quite affordable.
