Connect DCR-HC53E to a laptop through USB port

1. My laptop has no socket to iLink, but only USB

2. When I bought my handycam it brought as standard components an A/V cable and a USB cable which means that is is possible to connect it to a PC.

3. To learn how to transfer a film from the camera tape to a PC, I followed the procedures for Windows Vista 32 bits referred in http://support.sony-europe.com/tutorials/dime/videotransfer/vtransfer.aspx?site=odw_pt_PT&sec=MiniDVi&m=DCR-HC53E

4. I downloaded the driver USBDRVEN.EXE and followed the instructions till the moment in which appeared a message stating that «the USB driver cann´t be installed in this version of Windows»!!! I repeated the instructions several times, allways unsucessfully

5. Therefore I concluded there is some error in the instructuions and/or in the file driver.

6.As I couldn´t get any solution for the problem from SONY Portugal and assuming this is a problem that has be found by a lot of users of this camera, i ask to the forum for help.
