Deleting files from HDR-TG7VE from PC

Folks,

Is there any way to delete my movie files on my camera from the PC?

If I try it says the disk is write protected, I don't want to delete all from the camera as I want some left on, and deleting by date is a pain. I thought I might be able to do it from the Sony software but I can't get that to install on my system for some reason,

Any help greatly appreciated,

Hello Malcolm - Welcome to the Sony Forums

What kind of issue are you experiencing when you try to install the Sony software? If you let me know some information about your PC, such as the operating system details, I will double check to see if there is an update version of the software to download for your camera.

If you can get this installed, this should allow you to delete files individually.

Thanks for the reply - I managed to get PMB installed (I had installed another piece of Sony software that was conficting) so I have managed to import with the delete option enabled,

Got PMB installed and used the import media option with the "delete" option checked but it is not deleting from the camcorder - have you got any suggestions?

I am glad to hear that there has been some progress. PMB has been effectively replaced with PlayMemories Home now and this software may rectify this issue with deleting - have you already tried to install it? I know that you mentioned having tried to install something else first.

Installed that OK, checked the option to delete imported files from the media and it still did not delete imported files.

Any other suggestions?

I also found this error in the event viewer:

"The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\........" IT mentions a DISK volume and Sony and Camcorder so maybe that has something to do with it - I'll see if I can find out a bit more

I've tried attaching a screen shot in a word document but it won't let me attach it - says content type is not allowed?
