In playing mode my camera is changing from digital 8 to Hi8 mode, which makes it impossible to copy my old tapes.

Hi @hogneper,

did you by chance set the playback mode to Hi8? The respective setting can be found in the player settings under "PB MODE". This should be set to "AUTO".
