topic DCR-PC100E in Camcorders

I have a problem in that the DV Editing option in the menu will not change to OUT so I am unable to save any clips to my PC, although the system has been fine since I bought the camera 20 years ago. I use Linux for my editing and the Firewire control starts and stops the camera as if it is saving the material but nothing is saved. The instructions at the bottom of the screen say

[MARK]:EXEC [MENU]:END

I cannot see a 'MARK' button anywhere on the camera and do not know how to reset it to factory settings.

Can anyone help, please! This is a UK model of PC100 and uses PAL.

There must be a way to change the Firewire output to OUT!

Thanks for that.
It's 'old technology' but still produces beautiful pictures.
Abandoning FireWire and raw DV was not a positive move as no way is
MPG as good.
