Can I use the HDR-PJ240 as a webcam

Hi all. I recently unearthed a HDR-PJ240 from storage and I'm unable to work out whether it supports using the HDMI out to connect to my PC via a HDMI->USB video capture device.

I've checked this guide and can't work out whether my device will work or not. The device manual doesn't shed any light either

Any success with this? If so what did you use? I'd rather not buy the adapter cable and card if it won't work!

Hello @miowner,

if you can connect your camcorder to your TV and see an image without menu overlay there (you might need to disable settings like "Control via HDMI") then you can use any HDMI-capture card you want to use your camera as a webcam. Usable HD HDMI capture cards start at sub 20 pounds.
