HDV-Z1U camcorder not recognised by iMac

My 2019 iMac will not recognise my 2008 Z1 camera . I have firewire to 9 pin plug which is plugged in to Thunderbolt to firewire adaptor and then Thunderbolt 2 to 3 adaptor both Apple into the back of my iMac 2019 with Monterey 12.6

I have tried all ways and it just is not recognised by iMovie or anything else.

I'd like to thank responders to my previous post I've tried all your suggestions but I still cannot get any of my mountain of HDV and DV tapes digitised due to this machine not being recognised.

Which is the reason why you open multiple treads for the same question?

It’s at 99% a problem of the operating system that doesn’t support any more DV devices.

Grab an oldest mac to acquire your old type
