CD Drive making lots of noise

Hi,

My CD drive has just started making a lot of noise when i insert a CD. It varies in volume for different CDs but it makes a sound like its off balance or scraping against something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Try to remove the CD Driver from the slot and insert it back, you u need to just unscrew couple of screws, see if that works. Otherwise, try to install driver again. Since when this problem started? and after what ?

I have only just bought the laptop and with the one CD I was using before there was no problem, I only noticed it after I started trying other CDs. I will try to remove the CD drive and reinsert it.

Having taken a closer look at it, it seems quite loosely attatched. Would this instability be a cause?

I don't want to void any warranties so i'll put off removing screws, parts and the like for now in case.
