DVD problem playback

Just bought dvd playerDvpSR760H. Plays all bought DVDs but refuses to play any of my DVDs that have previously been recorded from other sources. Can anybody tell me why, please? Absolutely gutted because we’ve had to get rid of our old DVD player because we’ve got a new telly that doesn’t scarts And it’s too big anyway. Can’t play any any of our family DVDs with children on.

Does it show you any errors or just like a blank screen? They used to work on the old DVD? @Cheltonianbird

Initiallly it shows ‘loading’ then it just says unable to play this disc. I put it in my Mac and it said ‘you have inserted a blank disc’ . It plays discs +RW recorded on my daughter’s Dvd Recorder but all my discs are -RW

Make sure that the files on the discs are playing with the supported formats of the Player, you can find it here page 10: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4566/f199f4750d7b1a15524a014e6b3542d3/45663352M.pdf

Try to test them on other device and check again if possible.
