Hello,

I need serius help. I have got an VNG-FE31M with WinXP MCE preinstalled. Now I need to code some scripts in ASP, but this does not work, because the IIS (Internet Information Service) is not working! All I get is an error. I have reinstalled the OS a few times from the recovery disks, always the same thing. But:

I have another copy of Win XP Pro, and there IIS works fine. So it is not a hardware issue.

Windows XP MCE is a modified version of Win XP Pro, so IIS MUST work somehow. I tried everything, it does not work. I can not install the another version, because then not all drivers can be installed from the recovery CD (thank You for making it this complicated, Sony).

Well, I need help on this one, I am thankfull for every post.

Cheers,
Branko

It says "Server Application Error". This can mean evertything. Even when I install IIS from my own XP Pro CD it does not do anything. Maybe the whole OS is not okay, wich would mean that it is not delivered correctly.

Hi

ISS doesn't work too well with MCE, which is bizare as it's Pro + Media Centre.

Have you tried the Microsoft newsgroups? A lot of ASP experts in there who would know a lot better than me (I'm more a PHP user)
