Free HDTV not available through Sky + box?

I have just purchased a Bravia KDL-32EX403 with free HDTV. When I plug it into my normal ariel I can get free HDTV but when I plug it through the Sky+ box it cannot find any freeview channels. I am then left with having to subscribe to sky for £50 a month to get channels that I could get through my normal ariel. Is there another solution rather than having to unplug ariel cables each time I want to watch HDTV for free?

How are you connecting your Sky box? Should just be using SCART or HDMI. Your aerial feed should go straight into the back of the TV as your Sky box gets its signal from a dish, not the TV aerial.

I had it all running through my old VCR but having just got rid of this and plugged straight into the TV all works fine.
