USB Port Power stops during standby

Hi. I have a Sony Bravia KD-55X9000E. Connected to it is a Seagate 2TB portable USB powered hardrive. The Sony TV accepted the device and we have used it to record and watch a TV show. Problem is standby mode. When we put the TV into standby mode the power to the USB hardrive stops. I know this as the USB hub starts beeping due to power loss. When the TV turns back on to start recording the TV can longer see the USB hub. So it doesn't reord anything. I have to 'restart' the TV for it to find the USB hub again. To get around this I have to leave the TV on. Never put it into standby mode. So I don't want to leave the TV on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I don't want to leave the screen saver on 24/7.

Is there another option for me?

I'm curious to know if the issue happens if there is no hub involved and the HDD is connected directly to the TV via USB?

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I understand your comment and it is a good question. The USB Hub is new so I don't want to void my warranty by pulling it apart and reconnecting the Hard Drive straight to the USB port on the TV. Appreciate your comment.
