play memories home or similar tool to delete photos on camera from Laptop

i am having problems installing playmemories home to my laptop.  I want to view my photos from my laptop via usb but also delete any photos from my camera A6000 by this way.  do I need playmemories to do this ?  When I view a photo from my camera memory disk on my PC it wont allow me to delete it.  Any advice appreciated?  I tried llinginsta the playmemories link but I cant find it on my laptop so dont think it has installed.

Hello @Russj8,

as long as you access the memory card while it is still inside the camera, it is write protected.

Therefore you can't manually delete files.

PlayMemories offers a setting to delete imported files after successfull import, which I personally prefer to use, since I can import all the files I deem "good" and then format the card from the cameras menu after I am done.

Alternatively you can use your computers card-reader (or purchase a USB-card-reader) to have full read/wrtie access to the card.
