I bought a 65 inch X90J from Sony's website in the UK about a month ago. It said it came with a 5 year guarantee on the website, but I haven't received anything saying I have a 5 year warranty, and the warranty checker wouldn't bring anything up. After contacting Sony customer service yesterday , I gave them my TVs model and serial number and got it registered. I mentioned I had a 5 year guarantee. After checking the warranty checker though the warranty now shows up as being a year from purchase. Essentially my question is should I contact them again to make sure my warranty is registered for the full 5 years, and also to ask for some proof of warranty?
Hi @Issy877
I simply kept a snapshot of the Sony Shop website that clearly shows the 5 year warranty and obviously the invoice receipt as proof should I ever need the warranty. Let’s hope not. Sony never send out any warrant paperwork. I did once read how to get to get a 5-year warranty certificate on here, but cannot find it now.
I believe that the Warranty checker is a calculation, not a lookup. That simply calculates one year after the purchase date.
