aerial and satellite - combo - xe9005

hi

i have sony xe9005 - 2017 model.

i believe it has both aerial digital tv and satellite tuner setup.

can i ditch my paid service and connect an aerial and a dish cable directly to tv?

can i tune both freeview aerial channels (saorview here in ireland) and free to air tv satellite channels without any additional hardware/receiver?

2nd question:

if the above works, how will the channels be visible in the tv guide or channel numbering?

can i see both aerial and dish channels together?

3rd question:

if the answer to 2 is yes, can i reorder or move around the mixed combo channels in my desired order

Hi @bittihuduga

Just a couple of things to consider.

1. The satellite LNB needs to be a standard one, not the wideband LNB supplied with Sky Q.

2. On older models, like yours, there is no FreeSat EPG (electronic program guide) which is licenced by FreeSat and not included on older Sony TVs.

For the best of both worlds I would recommend a FreeSat 4K box which would allow recordings etc.

Hi bittihuduga, no, you'll need to pick a source each time. Here's how to tune: https://helpguide.sony.net/tv/eaep1/v1/en/02-01-02_02.html
